Granapadano is a matured natural abomasal cheese and a great example of the Dutch group of cheeses. The cheese is distinguished by its latex coating, which contributes to natural maturing and changes the taste of cheese from a moderately cheesy, piquant and slightly sour flavor to a richer, more pronounced taste and aroma.

The pattern is absent.
Regularly arranged pattern composed of round, oval or irregular eyes is allowed.
